The countdown is on for GDPR. Small Businesses must be aware of GDPR and how it could affect their business
General Data Protec
tion Regulation (GDPR) will be enforced from 25 May 2018. UK organisations that process the personal data of EU residents have only a short time to ensure that they are compliant. Introduced to keep pace with the modern digital landscape, the GDPR is more extensive in scope and application than the current Data Protection Act (DPA). The Regulation extends the data rights of individuals, and requires organisations to develop clear policies and procedures to protect personal data, and adopt appropriate technical and organisational measures.
The penalties are likely to be severe for organisations not complying.
If you need to know more or would like to know what you have to do to protect yourself then speak to ibd. We will have advisers who are up to date with current and future laws that will certainly affect your company. Don’t wait until the 24th May 2018 as you will find it difficult to find anyone who has knowledge of this law. We expect all of our advisers with knowledge of this law to be extremely busy.
