ibd Bids & Tenders
This is an opportunity open to all members
The ibd Tender Process is designed to provide members with the best possible opportunity to find tendered work that fits their skills and experience. With the support of the ibd Specialist Tender Team (STT), members can be confident that ibd will always submit the strongest possible bid in response to any published opportunity. The process is designed to deliver consistency of approach, so enhancing the reputation of ibd as a credible bidder. A key element in this is a mandatory independent review of the draft response. This independent review will be carried out by a member or members of the STT who have experience of reviewing tender submissions but are not involved in the bid team. The review process is more fully described under ibd Tender Process.
Members will typically not meet the tender criteria as individuals, and in any case are likely to lack the required credibility in terms of financial strength and history.
By coming together as a team, members can submit a bid under the ibd identity. Ibd Business Advice Group Ltd has the financial strength, insurance coverage and longevity to bid credibly alongside the largest consultancy firms.
The STT has assembled tools and advice to ensure that opportunities are quickly and honestly assessed to ensure that there is a reasonable prospect of winning the tender. Once this has been determined the strongest possible tender team will be guided to draft a response that meets ibd’s high professional standards and complies fully with the tender specification.
Because we are an association of self-employed individuals, we need a few rules to ensure consistency and fairness to all participants.
Members who expect to share in delivery of a project once won need to plan on actively participating in the associated bid team unless they have specifically agreed otherwise with the Bid Team Leader. For example, a Bid Team may ask a member with a specific specialism to lend their support to the bid to strengthen compliance with a specific requirement of the tender specification. In such instances it is recommended that there is a clear agreement about what the specialist member is expected to deliver and what their compensation will be. The STT or ibd Tender Manager can offer further advice if wished.
Because teams are bidding as ibd Business Advice Group Ltd (ibd), there is a final compliance review conducted by B&TS in conjunction with the ibd Tender Manager before the final bid is submitted.
Fees are payable to both B&TS and the STT for their parts in supporting the assembly and submission of any bid made as ibd
